Learn about Southwest Arkansas Weather
Who We Are
Southwest Arkansas Weather (SWARKWX) is a community-focused weather service dedicated to providing accurate, timely forecasts and severe weather coverage for the Southwest Arkansas region.
Our mission is to keep residents informed and safe through real-time radar updates, storm alerts, and detailed local forecasts — all completely free of charge.
We operate a growing network of weather cameras across the region (SWARKWX Cam Network), provide live storm coverage on YouTube and Facebook, and maintain an active presence on social media to deliver weather information when it matters most.
Our History
Noah McGalliard created Pike County Weather Watchers on Facebook to cover his local county as an EAST Project in high school (11th grade).
Noah expanded from Pike County to include all of Southwest Arkansas, rebranding to Southwest Arkansas Weather. Michael Modica Jr. joined the team.
With the help of Nevada County OEM and David Gummeson, SWARK officially started the SWARK Sky camera network to track severe weather and tornado-warned storms in rural areas.
Noah McGalliard graduated Mississippi State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Broadcast & Operational Meterology.
Coverage Area
We primarily cover Southwest Arkansas, including Nevada, Hempstead, Howard, Pike, Sevier, Miller, Lafayette, Columbia, Little River, Clark, Dallas, Calhoun, Ouachita, Union, Montgomery, Polk, Garland, Hot Springs, Grant, and surrounding counties. Our coverage extends to neighboring regions of East Texas and Northwest Louisiana when severe weather threatens the area.
