Hot & humid conditions ahead for the weekend and early next week. Heat advisories look to be in store, and nearing extreme levels.
A pattern change is ahead, with clearing and drying conditions into the weekend and early next week. Looking at the 500 mb level pattern (18,000 Feet), we see a ridge of high pressure moving over us and shifting over eastern portions of the United States. Southernly flow will be likely pumping moist air into the region. Highs will climb into the 90s nearing the mid to upper-90s early next week. Heat index values will climb into the 105 to 110 range.
This pattern should lead to overall drier and clearer conditions. Can't rule out an isolated summer time pop-up. But dry conditions will be likely. By the second half of the week we could see some rain chances return as we head toward the 4th of July timeframe. We will have more on this as we get closer to that timeframe.
